Already league leaders for K's

Justin A. Cohn | The Journal Gazette

We're only two games into the season -- the Komets have defeated the Quad City Mallards 6-2 and 3-1 -- and Jason Binkley leads all ECHL defensemen with four points.

Though several teams have played only one game, Fort Wayne's Mike Cazzola leads all rookies with four points, too.

Taylor Crunk, who had two of the Komets' six fights, is third in the league with 10 penalty minutes, behind Toledo's Jared Nightingale (13) and Quad City's Jack Nevins (12).

The Komets next play Friday at Kalamazoo, Michigan, during which we may see Mike Embach and Bobby Shea back in the lineup from their shoulder injuries.
