Crunk back, more on Komets

Justin A. Cohn | The Journal Gazette

Forward Taylor Crunk, who has missed 16 games with an ankle injury, has been activated and could play tonight for the Komets against the Quad City Mallards at Moline, Illinois.

To make room, the Komets waived forward Stephon Thorne, who had 14 penalty minutes in four games.

Additionally, Fort Wayne’s Shawn Szydlowski was named ECHL Player of the Month, after he totaled 11 goals and 28 points in 14 games. Fort Wayne’s Mike Cazzola was selected Rookie of the Month, after he had nine goals and 19 points in 14 games.

The ECHL also announced its coaches for the All-Star Game, which will pit league all-stars, including Szydlowski, against the host Adirondack Thunder on Jan. 18. The coaches will be Dan Watson of Toledo and Brad Ralph of Florida. Watson will be the head coach because the Walleye has the best record and Ralph will be the assistant because the Everblades have the best record in the other conference.
