Komet fans net more than $3,000 for American Kidney Fund

JOURNAL GAZETTE

The Komets announced today that $3,145 has been raised through the efforts of Mike Embach and Komet fans to help those afflicted with kidney disease.

Embach's mother Cindy was affected with stage five kidney disease and recently underwent a successful kidney transplant procedure. Mike Embach's father Mike, Sr. donated a kidney through a multiple donor exchange program which allowed Cindy to receive her kidney from a compatible third party donor.

All Komet fans were asked to help in the battle against the disease through CauseMates.com. In December, Embach and the Komets played to win for the American Kidney Fund as pledges were promised for each of Fort Wayne's four home wins during the month.
