Kiser out for spring ball

Notre Dame football fans will have to wait until the fall to see the top in-state prospect from the team's 2018 recruiting class.
Linebacker Jack Kiser, the 2018 Indiana Mr. Football out of Class A Pioneer, enrolled early with the Irish with the intention of participating in spring football, but reportedly had surgery to repair a torn labrum on Feb. 7 and will miss the spring practices rehabbing.
Kiser, who led Pioneer to back-to-back state titles as a junior and senior, is expected to be ready for the start of fall camp, but he will miss out on the opportunity to set himself apart from other freshmen that usually comes with enrolling early.
The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Kiser was the No. 7 recruit in Indiana and the No. 21 linebacker in the nation in the final version of 24/7Sports' rankings.
