Size, experiments headed Mad Ants' way

JUSTIN A. COHN | The Journal Gazette

INDIANAPOLIS – I was down at Indiana Pacers media day today and something that jumped out for you Mad Ants fans was that we’ve all been working under the assumption that Ben Moore and Jarrod Uthoff would be in Fort Wayne.

Pacers general manager Kevin Pritchard said that’s not necessarily so, that he wants competition and that he wouldn’t be shocked if those guys pulled roster spots.

I’ll believe it when I see it, but I do know they are high on Moore.

Pritchard raved about the jobs being done by Mad Ants coach Steve Gansey and general manager Brian Levy, but I didn't get a clear answer when I asked if they would be using the G-League more than they have in the past.

There are two-way contracts now, so one would think they would.

It did sound like they want to send a lot of size Fort Wayne’s way. He said we can expect a lot of 6-foot-7 and taller guys and that the Pacers need to use the Mad Ants more to experiment with things and then implement what works in Indianapolis.
