Mad Ants unveil staff

JUSTIN A. COHN | The Journal Gazette

The Mad Ants, who will be coached again by Steve Gansey, hired former Indiana Pacers player Norman Richardson to be an assistant coach for the season that opens Nov. 4 at Uniondale, New York. Richardson, who last season was an assistant and then interim head coach with the Erie BayHawks, joins Jhared Simpson on the bench.

“I am thrilled to have Norman on the staff. He brings a lot of professional experience from being a player in the NBA and as a head coach overseas, as well as in the G League,” Gansey said. “Norman is a great basketball coach and will help us win basketball games throughout this season.”

The Mad Ants also introduced Chris Taylor as director of basketball operations. He had been with the Pacers, who own and operate the Mad Ants, as a basketball operations coordinator.

Daniel Rosselli will be an athletic trainer, after working with the Southern Methodist University football team, and work with head physical therapist/athletic trainer Collin Brown. Alex Cerda will be the video coordinator. New hire Scott King will be a basketball operations intern. Jason Manikowski returns as strength and conditioning coach. Former Mad Ants player Ron Howard will be community development manager, which had been previously announced, while Buck Rogers is vice president, Quila Jackson is group sales manager, Lacey Ault is controller and Ryan Stevens is community/public relations manager.

The Mad Ants’ home opener will be Nov. 7 against Greensboro.
