The Mad Ants, who open their 11th season Saturday against the Long Island Nets at Uniondale, New York, took another step toward finalizing their roster by releasing Steve Weingarten today.
He is the second player the team took in the G League draft that has been released, the other being J.D. Tisdale Jr.
However, first-round pick Tra-Deon Hollins, a rookie, seems to be locked into a spot.
The Mad Ants have to release one or two more players before Thursday's deadline.
