Poythress to make season debut for Ants

Alex Poythress, whose starring role last season for the Mad Ants propelled him to the NBA, will be back on the Memorial Coliseum court Saturday against the Westchester Knicks.
The NBA’s Indiana Pacers, who signed Poythress to a two-way contract in the offseason, have sent him to Fort Wayne. He and fellow Pacer prospect Ike Anigbogu, a rookie who has played twice this season with the Mad Ants, will help Fort Wayne chase its ninth straight victory – which would be a new franchise regular-season record.
Poythress averaged 18.5 points and 7.1 rebounds last season as a rookie out of Kentucky, parlaying that into a late-season contract with the Philadelphia 76ers. He played in six games with the 76ers, averaging 10.7 points, and this season has played in seven games with the Pacers and totaled only six points, four rebounds and 19 minutes.
Trey McKinney Jones, who injured his shoulder in NBA Summer League, could potentially make his season debut for the Mad Ants, too, at the Coliseum.
