Previewing Ants vs. Nets

JUSTIN A. COHN | The Journal Gazette

The Mad Ants face the Long Island Nets at Memorial Coliseum at 7 p.m. Interesting thing about the Nets, who beat Fort Wayne 115-99 in the season-opening game, is that they are the team to have built the biggest lead on Fort Wayne in a game this season — 22 points.

The Mad Ants, who snapped their four-game losing streak by beating the Greensboro Swarm on Monday, are expecting great things from T.J. Leaf in his third game with the Mad Ants. He averaged 26.5 points in his first two games but has actually now had some time to practice with his teammates, something he didn’t really have last weekend.

The Mad Ants have two Indiana Pacers — Leaf and Ike Anigbogu — and are still trying to rebuild the chemistry that was altered by the myriad transactions of the last few weeks.

The Mad Ants are 11-6. The Nets are 12-6.
