Leaf, Anigbogu back to Pacers
JUSTIN A. COHN | The Journal Gazette
T.J. Leaf, who was highly productive in his first three G League games, has returned to the NBA’s Indiana Pacers from the Mad Ants.
Also going back to the Pacers today was Ike Anigbogu – Leaf, a forward, and Anigbogu, a center, are both rookies out of UCLA – so they won’t be in the lineup for the Mad Ants as they play Saturday in Mississauga, Ontario, against Raptors 905.
The Mad Ants (11-7) have lost five of their last six games yet remain tied with Wisconsin for the Central Division lead. The Raptors (7-10), who are at the bottom of the Atlantic Division, have won their last two games.
Leaf averaged 23.3 points and 8.3 rebounds with the Mad Ants. Anigbogu, who has played seven games with Fort Wayne, has averaged 6.6 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.6 blocks.
The Mad Ants now have only one Pacers-contracted player on their roster – rookie Edmond Sumner, who has yet to make his professional debut as he recovering from a knee injury suffered at Xavier – but Walt Lemon Jr. ranks fourth in the G League with 23.6 points per game and had 31 in Thursday’s 120-117 loss at Memorial Coliseum to the Long Island Nets.
