Jones looks good, but Mad Ants lose

DeQuan Jones totaled 29 points, converting 8 of 16 shots in Mississauga, Ontario, but the Mad Ants lost 113-95 to Raptors 905 in front of 1,114 fans at the Hershey Centre on Monday night.

Jones was 4 of 5 from 3-point range and 9 of 10 from the free-throw line.

Walt Lemon Jr. had 22 points for the Mad Ants (16-13), who were felled by 39.8 percent shooting from the field, well below the 52.2-percent shooting of the Raptors.

Lorenzo Brown had 28 points on 12-of-21 shooting for the Raptors (17-12), while teammate Kennedy Meeks had 15 points.

Edmond Sumner, the Indiana Pacers rookie playing his second game since returning from an a year-long layoff with an ACL injury, played 14 minutes for the Mad Ants, made 4 of 9 shots and totaled eight points.

Fort Wayne also had the debut of Jamil Wilson, who was acquired Thursday in a trade with the Agua Caliente Clippers of Ontario. Wilson, who played this season with the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers, scored five points and had six rebounds.

The Mad Ants were out-rebounded 54-36. Bruco Caboclo, a former Fort Wayne player, had seven points and 13 rebounds for the Raptors. Fort Wayne’s Jarrod Uthoff had eight rebounds and five points, making only 2 of 13 shots.

Fort Wayne plays the Windy City Bulls 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hoffman Estates, Illinois. The Mad Ants have lost three of their last five games.
