Moore, Beachem vying for US spots
JUSTIN A. COHN | The Journal Gazette
Ben Moore, who played last season for both the Mad Ants and the Indiana Pacers, is among those vying for a spot on the U.S. national team as it tries to qualify for the World Cup Tournament. Snider graduate Reggie Hearn already has a spot. V.J. Beachem, a former New Haven and Notre Dame player, is also trying to make the team. Fourteen players will be battling for 12 roster spots at the Las Vegas training camp that starts Thursday. The U.S. plays Uruguay on Sept. 14 at UNLV and Panama at Panama City on Sept. 17 in the qualification second-round games. The U.S. is 5-1 so far in qualifying games.
