Gansey reacts to Bentil return

The Mad Ants are definitely excited to have Ben Bentil back in the fold. He'll help them at both ends of the court and should improve the rebounding as much as the scoring.

"Ben gives us another scoring threat, inside and out. He's a mismatch at the five (spot) but will mainly play the four for us," coach Steve Gansey said.

"He brings great energy on the defensive end and should help us in the defensive rebound category, in which we have had struggles this year. ... Ben can flat out score the basketball and brings a toughness to him and a swagger. I'm really excited to have him back in the Mad Ants' uniform."

In 11 games with Xinjiang in China, he averaged 13.7 points and 4.8 rebounds.

And he'll take the pressure off another rookie, Alex Poythress, who has had to carry so much of the scoring/rebounding load.

The Mad Ants play Thursday in the D-League Showcase in Mississauga, Ontario, against the Windy City Bulls.
