Readying for Ants vs. Raptors

Justin A. Cohn | The Journal Gazette

If you're a fan of the D-League, regular-season games don't get much better than the one at 7 p.m. tonight at Memorial Coliseum. Two of the best teams in the league will play, with the Mad Ants hosting Raptors 905, and the importance is obvious because Fort Wayne has a 1.5-game advantage over Raptors 905 for the Central Division lead.

And if you're an Indiana University fan, consider this -- Will Sheehey, also a former Mad Ant, plays for Raptors 905, and Fort Wayne has Nick Zeisloft and Christian Watford.

Fred VanVleet leads Raptors 905 with 15.7 points per game and is establishing himself as one of the top players in the league.

Fort Wayne is 1-1 against Raptors 905 this season. They last met Dec. 1 in Mississauga, when Sheehey’s 23 points and VanVleet’s 10 assists led the Raptors to a 109-107 victory.

Fort Wayne is 9-3 at home. Raptors 905 is 5-0 on the road but comes in with a three-game losing streak.
