Saint Francis RB out 4-5 months
GREG JONES | The Journal Gazette
Saint Francis sophomore running back P.J. Dean will miss four to five months after having knee surgery, he confirmed Thursday.
Dean said he had surgery last Tuesday after suffering a stress fracture and a broken kneecap suffered a couple of days prior on a non-drill activity in practice. There were two pins and some wire inserted into his kneecap.
A possible return could be in August or September. Dean said a medical redshirt season is also a possibility.
"My wonderful trainers are trying to get me back ASAP, while being 100 percent so we are just taking it day by day," Dean wrote in a text message.
Dean ran for 456 yards and five touchdowns last season for the 2016 NAIA national champions and was slated to be the backup to sophomore Justin Green this season.
