Saint Francis' Gerka hits 40-point plateau in win
Saint Francis sophomore Kara Gerka became the third player in program history to score 40 or more points in a game with 40 points in a 91-82 win over IU-East on Saturday at the Hutzell Center.
Gerka joins Brooke Ridley (43 vs. Olivet Nazarene in 2015) and Jane Post (45 vs. Anderson in 1992) in school history of reaching the milestone.
Gerka hit 12 of 16 from the field, including 5 of 5 on 3-pointers, and 11 of 12 from the free-throw line. She also had six rebounds.
Sidney Crowe added 22 points, five rebounds and four assists, while Savannah Buck had 11 points, six assists and five rebounds.
Saint Francis (9-6) made 29 of 53 (55 percent) from the field, including 12 of 20 (60 percent) on 3's.
