Tech women whip Cornerstone

The No. 9 Indiana Tech women's basketball team defeated Cornerstone 73-50 at the Schaefer Center on Saturday to extend its winning streak to 12 games.

The Warriors (21-2, 12-1 Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference) took a 26-14 lead after the first quarter and extended it to 43-21 at halftime. 

Indiana Tech avenged its lone loss to the Golden Eagles as Haley Cook scored a game-high 27 points, Keanna Gary scored 23 points and DeAnn Kauffman added 11. 

Jesse Sheridan led Cornerstone (13-9, 8-4) with nine points. 

 

NORTH DAKOTA STATE 72, IPFW 56: In Fargo, North Dakota, Kierstyn Repp led the Mastodons (4-16, 1-6 Summit League) with 23 points, shooting 7 of 12 from 3, the most since Haley Seibert had seven at Omaha on Jan. 30, 2014. Peyton Fallis added 13 points for IPFW. Sarah Jacobson scored 19 and Reilly Jacobson added 16 for the Bison (8-11, 1-4). 

SAINT FRANCIS 83, BETHEL 58: At the Hutzell Center, Lindley Kistler led the Cougars (14-8, 6-4 Crossroads League) with 23 points, going 3 of 6 from beyond the arc, and Kara Gerka added 17 points. Kamala Glenn scored 13 and Jessica Erwin added 11 for the Pilots (6-16, 1-9).

TAYLOR 83, GRACE 59: In Upland, Brooke Sugg scored 15, Kyannah Stull added 12 and Micaela Box 11 for the Lancers (10-12, 4-6 Crossroads League). Cassidy Wyse led the Trojans (15-7, 8-2) with 25 points, Kendall Bradbury had 21 points and 11 rebounds, Josie Cobb scored 15 and Abby Buchs 10. 

HUNTINGTON 65, MOUNT VERNON 40: In Mount Vernon, Ohio, Sarah Fryman scored 12, Maddie Richer added 11, Brooke Saylor had 10 points and 20 rebounds and Hailey Krewald had 10 points for the Foresters (13-8, 6-4 Crossroads League).

TRINE 68, ALMA 37: In Angola, Kayla Freeman scored 14 points off the bench to lead the Thunder (16-2, 8-1 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association) and Hayley Martin added 11 points, nine rebounds and three blocks. 

EARLHAM 73, MANCHESTER 47: In Richmond, the Spartans led 16-11 after the first quarter but trailed 29-22 at the half. Nicole Weaver led Manchester (4-13, 3-7 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference) with 14 points, Haley Farris added 11 and Faith-Alexis Graham 10. 

INDIANA 69, MICHIGAN STATE 65: In East Lansing, the Hoosiers never trailed and led by as much as 42-16 with 6:42 left in the second quarter. Tyra Buss scored 28 points on 11 of 19 shooting, Amanda Cahill added 17 and Jaelynn Penn 13 for Indiana (9-12, 2-6 Big Ten). 

BALL STATE 79, KENT STATE 58: In Kent, Ohio, Carmen Grande had 15 points and 10 assists, Frannie Frazier scored 15, Katie Heldason and Destiny Washington each added 12 and Moriah Monaco 10 for the Cardinals (15-3, 4-3 MAC).
