Ball State women lose to Central Michigan


Central Michigan outscored Ball State by 12 in the fourth quarter Wednesday en route to an 88-80 victory over the Cardinals (23-5, 12-5 MAC) in a matchup of the top two teams in the Mid-American Conference's West Division at Mount Pleasant, Mich.

Sophomore forward Moriah Monaco scored 18 points and pulled down seven rebounds for the Cardinals, who saw a 5-game winning streak snapped despite making 10 3-pointers and shooting 50 percent from the field. Freshman guard Nakeya Penny added 18 points off the bench for Ball State.

Junior Presley Hudson dominated for the Chippewas, scoring 26 points, grabbing nine rebounds and dishing off five assists. Senior Tinara Moore posted a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds, including six of her team's 14 offensive boards.
