Boilers land pair of 4-star recruits


Purdue football added a pair of top-level recruits to its 2019 recruiting class Monday when four-star Tennessee wide receiver T.J. Sheffield and four-star Ohio defensive tackle Steven Faucheux committed to the Boilermakers. They both had offers from Alabama and Michigan, among numerous others.

The pair of elite recruits doubles Purdue's total of four-star players in the class and gives the Boilermakers 21 commitments total. The Boilers' class is No. 22 in the nation, per, up 29 spots from the 2018 ranking.

Faucheux is the No. 21 defensive tackle and No. 328 player in the country overall out of Lakota West in West Chester, Ohio. Sheffield is the No. 47 receiver in the nation and No. 360 player overall. He plays for Independence High School in Thompson's Station, Tennessee.
