Candidates for a U.S. Senate seat from Indiana will debate Oct. 8 and Oct. 30, the Indiana Debate Commission announced Tuesday.
The non-partisan commission said the second debate will be at 7 p.m. in the Toby Theater at Newfields at the Indianapolis Museum of Art.
The commission was offering the public 450 tickets today to the Indianapolis debate at http://bit.ly/2mXBK3B. It later said all the tickets had been claimed within about two hours after they had been made available.
The Indy Chamber and AARP-Indiana are providing financial support, and WFYI-TV is managing the broadcast production, which will be made available to media outlets throughout the state. Broadcasters and online streaming services will include C-SPAN.
The Oct. 8 debate will be in northwest Indiana. The commission said it will soon announce the location and ticket information.
Democratic Sen. Joe Donnelly of Granger is being challenged in the Nov. 6 general election by Republican Mike Braun of Jasper and Libertarian Lucy Brenton of Indianapolis. All three will participate in both debates, the commission said.
