Adams Central to honor Minnich

JOURNAL GAZETTE

Adams Central's football field will be officially renamed "Minnich Field" at halftime Friday when the Jets play host to Lapel. 

Rick Minnich was a longtime football coach and athletic director at the school. Minnich coached the football program from 1977-2008, guiding the program to a Class A state championship in 2000.

There will be a reception from 5-6:30 p.m. in the cafetorium for all Adams Central players and former coaches.

 

Girls golf

BELLMONT 177, LEO 187: Leo's Anna Munson won medalist honors with a 37, while the Braves won the team match at Cedar Creek.

Bellmont was led by Emma Ainsworth's 39 and Libby Miller's 41.

Girls soccer

DEKALB 13, NEW HAVEN 0: Faith Lewis had five goals and four assists to lead the host Barons. Brooke Bowers added three goals. 

ANGOLA 2, HERITAGE 1: The host Hornets got two goals from Hanna Knoll to beat the Patriots.

Boys tennis

CARROLL 4, CANTERBURY 1: The host Chargers swept the three singles matches, getting wins from Ethan Radke at No. 1, Luke Stoffel at No. 2 and Kyle Hoerr at No. 3. Carroll improved to 7-1 with the win.

WAYNE 4, NORTHROP 1: Ben Dimino beat Sam Acra 6-2, 6-4 at No. 1 singles to lead the host Generals.
