Luers holds off Wayne


Jordan Presley ran for 157 yards and two touchdowns as Bishop Luers held off Wayne 28-20 on Friday.

The Knights (2-0) led 21-7 in the third quarter before the Generals (0-2) rallied in the fourth quarter. 

Dalyn Hart ran for 96 yards and a touchdown for Wayne.


NORTHROP 34, SOUTH SIDE 22: The visiting Bruins built a 34-8 lead before the Archers scored a couple of touchdowns in the fourth quarter.

Northrop (1-1) was led by Bailey Meerzo's 151 passing yards and a touchdown and 104 rushing yards and two scores. South Side (0-2) got 197 rushing yards and a touchdown from Marcalin Hairston and 106 rushing yards and two scores from Omar Jackson. 

BISHOP DWENGER 37, NORTH SIDE 0: Eddie Morris threw for two touchdowns and ran for a score as the host Saints blanked the Legends. Dwenger (2-0) held North Side (0-2) to 53 total yards. 

NEW HAVEN 36, MISSISSINEWA 32: The Bulldogs won a back and forth road game with a big fourth quarter. 

New Haven (2-0) trailed 32-30 in the fourth when Bryan Sexton passed to James Gardner for the game-winning touchdown from 20 yards out. Sexton accounted for five touchdowns for the Bulldogs, four passing and one rushing. 

COLUMBIA CITY 48, WHITKO 6: The host Eagles outgained the Wildcats 407-163 in the romp. Jacob Wigent ran for 109 yards and three touchdowns and Jacob Bolt threw for two scores for Columbia City (1-1). Whitko fell to 0-2.

SOUTH ADAMS 31, BELLMONT 24: Nic Stuber threw for 152 yards and three touchdowns to lead the host Starfires (2-0). For Bellmont (0-2), Johnathon Wilder tossed three touchdown passes.

GARRETT 28, DEKALB 19: Cam Smith ran for three touchdowns for the host Railroaders. Garrett improved to 2-0, while DeKalb fell to 0-2.

NORWELL 28, HERITAGE 27: The visiting Knights (1-1) snapped a 12-game losing streak with the close win over the Patriots (0-2). 

WOODLAN 60, PRAIRIE HEIGHTS 0: Justin Durkes threw for 252 yards and five touchdowns for the host Warriors.

Amarion Hicks caught two touchdown passes for his only two catches and 144 yards. Woodlan (2-0) also got 177 rushing yards and a score from Jack Rhoades. The Warriors held the Panthers to negative-6 yards of total offense.

BLUFFTON 8, MANCHESTER 0: Brandon Lockwood ran for 213 yards and the game's only touchdown for the host Tigers (1-1), who won their first game of the season.

EASTSIDE 28, ADAMS CENTRAL 7: Aaron Dean caught two touchdown passes as the host Blazers topped the Jets. Eastside (1-1) scored 14 points in the first and fourth quarters against Adams Central (1-1). 

CHURUBUSCO 42, LAKELAND 12: Tom Richards threw for three touchdowns and Nathan Keener ran for 160 yards and a score as the Eagles (2-0) got the road win. Mason Anderson added 108 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

WEST NOBLE 31, WAWASEE 14: Kyle Mawhorter ran for 175 yards and four touchdowns for the host Chargers. West Noble improved to 2-0 for the first time since 2005. Wawasee fell to 1-1.
