Dashiell's 5 goals leads East Noble to girls soccer sectional finals


Emily Dashiell scored five goals Thursday night to lead the East Noble girls soccer team to a 9-0 rout of North Side in a semifinal at the Carroll Sectional.

The Knights (7-8-3) face Carroll in the championship match Saturday.

Shannon Davis added a hat trick for East Noble, while Taylor Burke capped the scoring with her marker.

Danielle Wright saved 10 shots in goal for North Side (6-10).


BLACKHAWK CHRISTIAN 3, CANTERBURY 1: The Braves capitalized on nine shots compared to Canterbury's two and pulled away after a 1-1 halftime score to advance to Saturday's Blackhawk Sectional final against Manchester, which beat Woodlan 3-1.

HUNTINGTON NORTH 3, HOMESTEAD 2: Huntington North prevailed on penalty kicks, 4-3, at the Homestead Sectional. Karmen Koch and Hannah Tillett each scored goals for the Vikings as regulation ended 2-2.

DEKALB 4, LAKELAND 2: Back-to-back first-half goals from Grace Snyder sent the Barons into Saturday's finals of the Lakeland Sectional.

WESTVIEW 3, LAKELAND CHRISTIAN 1: Jessica Sloan had the goal for Lakeland Christian in its loss in the semifinals of the Bethany Christian Sectional.


WEST NOBLE 3, PRAIRIE HEIGHTS 0:  Tori Miller racked up 15 kills and four aces, while Lauren Burns added 21 digs as the Chargers won on the road. It was a 25-21, 27-25, 25-19 tally.

HUNTINGTON NORTH 3, NORWELL 0: Kaitlyn Stephan had 35 assists to help the host Vikings win 25-9, 25-9, 25-14.

CARROLL 3, ANGOLA 0: Ari Bolinger had 15 kills, two aces and two digs, and Ellee Ruskaup addedd 12 digs and three aces to lead the Chargers to a 25-6, 25-18, 25-18 triumph on the road.
