Snider boys, girls sweep swim meet

JOURNAL GAZETTE

The Snider boys and girls swim teams swept Bishop Luers and South Side at the Helen P. Brown Natatorium on Tuesday.

The Panther boys won 151-97 over Bishop Luers. South Side scored 66 points. Zach Cubellis-Lund was the only individual double-event winner as he won the 500-yard freestyle (5:59.08) and the 100 back (1:05.97).

Snider won 127-101 over Bishop Luers. South Side scored 88. The Panthers were boosted by sweeping the relays.

Boys basketball

HOMESTEAD 64, COLUMBIA CITY 46: At Homestead, Onye Ezeakudo led the Spartans (7-6) with 12 points and Sam Buck added 11.

Mitchell Wilson scored 19 for the Eagles (7-8).

Girls basketball

BISHOP LUERS 50, LEO 40: At Bishop Luers, Lydia Reimbold led the Knights (14-6) with 21 points.

Hannah Adams scored 14 and McKenna Dietsch added 10 for the Lions (10-9).

BELLMONT 50, SNIDER 31: At Bellmont, Grace Hunter led the Braves (16-4) with 15 points and nine rebounds and Kenzie McMahon added 12 points.

Hannah Barnes scored 14 for the Panthers (8-11).

FORT RECOVERY (OH) 39, SOUTH ADAMS 33: At South Adams, the Starfires were outscored 10-2 in the third quarter and 13-6 in the fourth to squander a 25-16 halftime lead.

Lexi Dellinger scored 20 points for South Adams (12-8) in the loss, going 12 for 12 from the free-throw line.

NORWELL 69, JAY COUNTY 52: At Norwell, Logan Rowles led the Knights (14-5) with 23 points on 8 of 11 shooting from the floor. Aubrey Dunnuck had 11 points and 11 rebounds and Brielle Wilson and Breann Barger each added 10.

Hanna Ault scored 21 for the Patriots (12-8).

FAIRFIELD 64, CENTRAL NOBLE 39: At Fairfield, Sydney Freeman scored 15 for the Cougars (14-5, 6-2 Northeast Corner) in the loss.

Erica Zook led five Falcons (16-2, 8-0) players in double-figure scoring with 14. Jordan Kintigh added 13, Felicity Bontrager and Jenean Schwartz each scored 11 and Katie Lashley 10.
