Norwell girls top Bishop Luers

JOURNAL GAZETTE

The Norwell girls basketball team defeated sectional opponent Bishop Luers 59-46 on Tuesday in the final week before the postseason begins.

Rowles scored 23 for Norwell (16-5), Wilson had 11 and Fuelling added 10.

Nine different players scored in double-figures for Bishop Luers (15-7), led by nine from Kathryn Knapke.

The teams will play again in Tuesday's first-round sectional game at Bellmont.

NORTHROP 75, COLUMBIA CITY 52: At Columbia City, Breanna Douglas scored 22, Arielle Thatcher added 19 and Niomi Dube and Morgan Hughes each had 11 for the Bruins (19-2).

Carly Mable scored 15 and Olivia Shearer added 10 for the Eagles (8-15).

SOUTH SIDE 72, HUNTINGTON NORTH 52: At South Side, Taniece Chapman led the Archers (18-4) with 20 points. Mikeba Jones scored 15 and Shamari Jackson and Shamari Tyson each added 10 on senior night.

BISHOP DWENGER 53, LEO 43: At Leo, Caitlyn Ryan led the Saints (11-7) with 16, Ellen Ross added 14 and Olivia Sturba 12.

McKenna Dietsch and Sophia Pierce each scored 10 for the Lions (11-10).

Boys basketball

BISHOP DWENGER 73, BLACKHAWK CHRISTIAN 66: At Bishop Dwenger, Hayden Smithey scored 21, Matt Kochanski scored seven of his 14 points in overtime and Lucas Lehrman scored 14 to lift the Saints (8-6).

Frank Davidson scored 21, Caleb Furst added 15 and Jalan Mull 14 for the Braves (14-2).

NEW HAVEN 70, CONCORDIA 60: At New Haven, Zach Latham led the Bulldogs (11-4) with 16 points, James Gardner added 13 and Antwone Washington 10.

Brayden Pearson and Jeren Kindig each had 16 points and Jadon Dance added 11 for the Cadets (4-10).

WABASH 59, BLUFFTON 57: At Wabash, Max Corle led the Tigers (5-9) with 25 and Johnathan Irwin and Cole McConnell each added 10 in the loss.

Elijah Vanderkolk Velden led Wabash (7-6) with 18 points.

WOODLAN 63, GARRETT 61: At Woodlan, the Warriors (5-7) outscored the Railroaders 42-27 in the second half to secure the win.

Aaron Hahn led Woodlan with 18 points, Mitch Mendenhall added 15 and Micah Robbins and Ah'lan Howard scored 13 each.

Micah Malcolm led Garrett (3-13) with 17 points and Dillon McCann added 15.
