Heritage boys beat Adams Central in 2 OTs
Abram Beard had 10 of Heritage’s 12 points in double overtime and the Patriots defeated the Adams Central boys basketball team 49-39 on Friday night in Monroeville.
Eight of Beard’s points in the second overtime came from the free-throw line and he totaled 18 points in a game that saw the Flying Jets force extra play with a 6-3 run to close regulation time.
It was tied at 33 after the fourth quarter and at 37 after the first overtime.
Heritage’s Alec Burton had 10 points, including the only other Patriots basket of double overtime.
Adams Central’s Kevin Brown had 18 points and Johnny Carroll added 13.
HOMESTEAD 63, NORTHROP 58: Grant Raber had 21 points to pace the Spartans, who pulled away with a 13-8 fourth-quarter run. Sam Buck added 18 points. Qualen Pettus’ 22 points led the Bruins.
JAY COUNTY 39, BLUFFTON 18: At Bluffton, Jay County led 15-7 at halftime and then had all 14 points of the third quarter. Cole Stigleman had nine points for Jay County.
CARROLL 55, SNIDER 46: Dan McKeeman made 8 of 11 shots for 19 points to lead the Chargers, who used a 14-3 run to take a 22-13 halftime lead. Snider’s Dillon Duff had 18 points and 15 rebounds.
BISHOP DWENGER 47, SOUTH SIDE 43: Lucas Lehrman’s 15 points led the Saints, who close the game with a 14-6 run.
CENTRAL NOBLE 56, CHURUBUSCO 49: At Churubusco, Ridley Zolman had 22 points, including 5-of-10 shooting from 3-point range, for the Cougars. Churubusco’s Zane Burke had 23 points.
SOUTHERNS WELLS 74, SOUTH ADAMS 68: In Berne, Thomas Biddle had 21 points for the Raiders and Lars In’t Groen 17 for the Starfires.
FAIRFIELD 71, WEST NOBLE 49: At Ligonier, Luke Stephens totaled 32 points for Fairfield, making 12 of 19 shots.
CARROLL 84, SNIDER 36: The Chargers opened the game with a 21-8 run and had a commanding 47-16 lead at halftime. Emily Parrett had 14 points. Alyssa Kimes had 12. And Julia Miller added 11. Snider’s Nyasia Hardy totaled 10 points.
SOUTH SIDE 60, BISHOP DWENGER 55: Shamari Jackson’s 14 points paced the Archers. The Saints’ Caitlyn Ryan had 17 points.
COLUMBIA CITY 56, NEW HAVEN 29: At New Haven, Carly Mable had 13 points and Olivia Shearer added 12 for the Eagles, who opened the game on 18-7 run and then followed that with a 13-2 run. New Haven’s Sukura Stubbs had 10 points.
BISHOP LUERS 82, WAYNE 29: Kathryn Knapke’s 16 points paced the Knights, who led 18-6 after one quarter. Wayne’s Mya Jackson totaled 18 points.
FAIRFIELD 56, WEST NOBLE 39: At Ligonier, Jenean Schwartz had 17 points for Fairfield and Lauren Burns 14 for West Noble.
