Homestead tops Huntington North in softball sectional

Katie Felger had a huge day at the plate, going 4 for 4 with a triple, three RBI and two runs scored to lead Homestead to a 6-2 victory over Huntington North in the softball sectional title game at Homestead.

Emily Felger got the win for the Spartans (21-3), running her record to 10-1 this season. Homestead's Savana Harless also had two hits and drove in two runs.

The game was tied 1-1 in the fourth inning, but the Spartans scored three times that inning to pull away. Kendra Arnold took the loss on the mound for the Vikings (13-12) and doubled at the plate.

LEO 14, DEKALB 0: Leo (23-3) scored at least two runs in all four innings it batted and held host DeKalb (5-15) to one hit in the sectional final. The Lions play Homestead in the regional Tuesday.

NORWELL 10, HERITAGE 4: The host Knights (17-7) scored four runs in the fifth to break open a tie game and will play Bellmont for the sectional title Friday. Amanda Hartman got the win.
