South Adams grabs road win against Bellmont

South Adams (2-0) scored 20 unanswered points in a 10-minute stretch between the first and second quarters and held on to win 20-17 road win over Bellmont on Friday.

Nic Stuber ran 22 times for 137 yards and a touchdown and also caught a 65-yard pass from quarterback James Arnold for another score.

Aaron Lehrman caught five passes for 100 yards and a touchdown for Bellmont (0-2), which also got 162 total yards from quarterback Johnathon Wilder. Neither team scored in the second half, but Caden Friedt had 13 tackles and a sack for the Braves.

COLUMBIA CITY 14, WHITKO 0: Columbia City (1-1) running back Michael Sievers ran for 18- and 25-yard touchdowns, both in the first quarter. Sievers rushed for 120 yards at Whitko and backfield mate Jacob Wigent added 18 carries for 141 yards, including 73 on one play. Zakk Neer led Whitko (0-2) with 11 carries for 50 yards.

WEST NOBLE 22, WAWASEE 7: Brandon Pruitt carried 35 times and went for 151 yards and a touchdown for the Chargers (2-0) at Wawasee. Nicholas Mora had seven catches for 114 yards and a touchdown. Warriors (0-2) quarterback Evan Eshbach went 16 of 31 for 231 yards and a touchdown.

CHURUBUSCO 42, LAKELAND 6: The Eagles (2-0) jumped out to a 20-0 first-quarter lead at home behind three total touchdowns from quarterback Tom Richards. Richards capped the early flurry with a 38-yard strike to receiver Blake Trostel. Gage Paulus scored the only touchdown for Lakeland (1-1).

BLUFFTON 36, MANCHESTER 21: Everett Johnson led the Tigers with 198 yards and two touchdowns, accounting for the majority of Bluffton's 368 yards on the ground at Manchester. Cody Middlestedt also ran for two scores, including a 51-yarder, for Bluffton, while Devin Marcum threw a touchdown pass and ran for a score for the Lancers (1-1).

WARSAW 17, EAST NOBLE 10: Josh West gained 100 yards and scored a touchdown on 11 carries for the Tigers (2-0) at home. East Noble (1-1) quarterback Bailey Parker 201 total yards and a touchdown.

MISSISSINEWA 37, NEW HAVEN 0: The host Bulldogs (0-2) fell behind 30-0 at halftime and gained only 83 total yards. Tim Jordan completed a 25-yard pass to Lamarr Hutchins.

BLACKFORD 28, SOUTHERN WELLS 14: The Raiders (1-1) led 14-7 in the third quarter after Mason Huffman completed a 64-yard touchdown pass to Will Pennington, but Blackford scored the final 21 points at Southern Wells.

NORWELL 33, HERITAGE 6: Max Ringger ran for two touchdowns and Levi Leidig added a 50-yard touchdown run in the second quarter to pace the Knights (1-1) on the road. Lucas Cashdollar scored the only touchdown for Heritage (0-2)

DEKALB 49, GARRETT 0: Landon Miller accounted for four of the DeKalb (1-1) touchdowns, including rushing scores of 31 and 26 yards. 

MARION LOCAL (Ohio) 42, WOODLAN 0: Reggie Blackman ran eight times for 30 yards, but Woodlan (0-2) managed just 75 total yards.
