Bishop Luers wins sectional title
Bishop Luers outscored Columbia City 28-16 in the second half to claim a 45-35 win in the championship at the Bellmont Class 3A boys basketball sectional Saturday.
Luers (17-7) trailed Columbia City (12-14) 19-17 at halftime.
The sectional title is Luers' first since 2013 and first in 3A since 2007.
J.J. Foster Jr. led the Knights with 19 points, while Anton Berry had 11.
For Columbia City, Parker Hazen led the way with 21 points.
WARSAW 49, GOSHEN 32: The Tigers won the championship at Elkhart Central for their second straight sectional title.
Warsaw (17-9) was led by Kyle Mangas' 23 points and Jeremy David's 10 points.
NEW HAVEN 42, ANGOLA 30: The Bulldogs knocked off the defending sectional champions in the finals at Garrett.
New Haven (19-7) won its first sectional championship in four years. Whitney Harris led the Bulldogs with 11 points, while Brecar Clark had nine.
The Hornets finishes the season 19-8. Jake Honer had nine points for Angola.
FAIRFIELD 49, WEST NOBLE 39: The Falcons outscored the Chargers 18-7 in the finals at Wawasee.
West Noble (9-15) got 15 points from Larry Nickolson.
Fairfield (13-12) knocked off No. 2 NorthWood in the semifinals.
CENTRAL NOBLE 56, LAVILLE 50: The Cougars won their first sectional title since 2003 by winning the finals at Westview.
Central Noble (14-12) got 21 points from Reeve Zolman and 20 from Mason Smith.
The Cougars held on as they were outscored 22-12 in the fourth quarter.
LAKEWOOD PARK 77, BLACKHAWK CHRISTIAN 75: The Panthers shocked the No. 7 Braves in the championship at Bethany Christian.
Lakewood Park (17-8) won its first-ever boys basketball sectional title as Keegan Fetters hit a shot with four seconds left.
Blackhawk Christian finishes the season 17-10.
