Canterbury baseball coach honored

JOURNAL GAZETTE

The Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association will present a Victory Club Award to Canterbury coach Pat McMahon.

The award is given when a coach reaches a Victory plateau starting with 100 varsity wins and then each time the coach wins another 100 games.

McMahon won his 200th game during the 2016 season when his Cavaliers shut out Wayne 5-0.

They ended the season with a 7-13 record and played for their third sectional championship in the last four seasons.

This was his 28th year of coaching high school baseball. McMahon is 208-234, overall.

He will be honored Jan. 20 at the Sheraton at the Crossing Hotel in Indianapolis.
