Carroll boys beat Dwenger at buzzer
Dillon Redding's 3-pointer at the buzzer lifted Carroll past visiting Bishop Dwenger 60-57 in boys basketball Friday.
Carroll (6-2, 3-0 SAC) outscored Bishop Dwenger (3-3, 1-2) 21-11 in the fourth quarter, capped by Redding's shot.
Jacob Redding, Dillon's brother, led the Chargers with 15 points, while Anthony Martin had 12 and Riley Perlich 11. Dillon Redding finished with five points.
Dwenger put three players in double figures -- Hayden Smithey with 14, Campbell Donovan with 13 and Conlan Martin with 12.
HOMESTEAD 70, SOUTH SIDE 57: Brandon Durnell scored 34 points as the host Spartans cruised past the Archers.
Homestead (9-1, 3-0 SAC) also got 16 points from Jack Ferguson. South Side (1-6, 1-2) was led by Trejean Didier's 16 points.
BISHOP LUERS 75, CONCORDIA 47: The Knights outscored the Cadets 21-9 in the first quarter and 29-9 in the third in the road win.
Anton Berry led Luers (6-4, 2-1) with 22 points. Concordia (1-5, 0-3) got 10 points from Nick Webb.
WARSAW 68, NORTHRIDGE 46: The host Tigers bounced back from two losses at last week's Hall of Fame Classic to beat the Raiders.
Warsaw (7-4, 2-0 NLC) got 22 points from Kyle Mangas, 14 from Jeremy David and 12 from Braxton Minix.
WHITKO 78, ROCHESTER 55: Nate Walpole scored 26 points and River West added 21 as the host Wildcats cruised past the Zebras.
Whitko (6-5, 2-1 TRC) also got 15 points from Spencer Sroufe.
CONCORDIA 74, BISHOP LUERS 29: The Cadets jumped out to a 22-2 lead after the first quarter and rolled to the home win.
Concordia (14-3) now sits alone in second place in the SAC (5-1). Skylare Starks had 25 points, while Carissa Garcia added 19.
Luers (4-10, 1-5) got seven points from Kathryn Knapke.
HOMESTEAD 54, SOUTH SIDE 36: The Spartans came off their second straight SAC tournament title last month and cruised past the Archers at home.
Karrisa McLaughlin had 23 points, and Madisen Parker got 15 for Homestead (16-0, 6-0 SAC).
South Side (9-7, 5-2) got eight points from Darshana Nathan.
CARROLL 62, BISHOP DWENGER 52: Kelli Damman's 25 points helped the host Chargers to the win.
Carroll improved to 13-5 and 3-2 in the SAC.
Dwenger (8-6, 1-5) got 13 points from Ellen Ross.
NORWELL 50, LEO 37: The host Knights outscored the Lions 29-15 in the first half to pick up the Northeast Eight win.
Norwell (10-6, 3-1) was led by Kaylee Roller's 13 points, while Courtney Beer scored 12. Sophia Pierce led Leo (10-5, 2-1) with 15 points, and Abbie Heischman added 10.
HERITAGE 55, ADAMS CENTRAL 28: The host Patriots picked up their first ACAC win by rolling past the Jets.
Heritage (5-11, 1-4) got 11 points from Bree Dossen and 10 from Sidney Bienz.
WEST NOBLE 81, LAKELAND 33: The host Chargers led 26-3 after the first quarter en route to the rout.
West Noble (11-5, 6-2) had four players in double figures, led by Madison Scheremerhorn's career-high 18 points.
