Luers downs Huntington North in 2 OTs

The Bishop Luers boys basketball team outlasted visiting Huntington North on Friday night in double overtime.

The 57-52 victory was sparked in large part by the backcourt tandem of J.J. Foster Jr. (21 points and five steals) and Ray Walker Jr. (14 points, three steals). Anton Berry added 11 points and eight rebounds.

The Knights end the regular season at 15-7, having won nine of their last 11.

The Vikings dropped two of their last three games to finish the regular season 17-8.

 

CARROLL 44, WARSAW 39: Riley Perlich went 5 for 6 from the field and 5 for 5 at the free-throw line during his 16-point performance that highlighted the Chargers' road victory. Tigers star Kyle Mangas had a team-high 10 points but shot 4 for 17 from the field. Carroll's Arius Jones had five points, six assists and five boards.

EASTBROOK 64, SOUTH ADAMS 60: The host Starfires saw Marcus Teeter go for 19 points, but Eastbrook buried 11 of 29 3-point attempts compared to 6 of 21 for South Adams. Jared Grabau added 17 points for the Starfires, who committed 15 turnovers and allowed Eastbrook 10 offensive rebounds.

HOMESTEAD 66, NORWELL 49: Jack Ferguson poured in 27 points to lead the Spartans to a road win. They pulled away by outscoring Norwell 19-4 in the second quarter and 20-14 in the third. For the Knights, Cody Shively and Will Geiger each finished with 16 points, while Cole Wilson added 10 points.

LEO 80, WOODLAN 63: Will Moreau had 28 points to lift the Lions on the road. They seized a 17-9 lead after the first quarter and were ahead by 17 at halftime.

SOUTHWOOD 88, BLUFFTON 45: Max Corle had a team-high 11 points for visiting Bluffton.
