SIP AND CREATE CLASS: Gene Stratton-Porter State Historic Site in Rome City is hosting a “Sip & Create” series at 6 p.m. Saturday and Nov. 18. Participants will create art pieces while enjoying snacks and wines from Byler Lane Winery. Cost is $25. To register, call 260-854-3790.
PUMPKIN PATCH CONTEST: Visit Fort Wayne is conducting a “Fort Wayne Pumpkin Patch” social media contest through Oct. 31. Participants can carve a pumpkin with a Fort Wayne design and then post social media with the contest hashtag, #FWPumpkinPatch. Winners will be selected Nov. 1. Ten pre-made Fort Wayne pumpkin carving stencils are available for free at VisitFortWayne.com/PumpkinPatch.
MUSIC AND DRINKS: Fort Wayne Philharmonic announced its new program, “Music + Mixology,” geared to 21 to 40-year-olds. Those attending a Masterworks performance can follow up with a post-concert gathering with drinks and social time at Wine Down, located near the Embassy Theatre where the performances will take place. Hosting each “Music + Mixology” evening will be Caleb Young, the Philharmonic's assistant conductor. The dates for the gatherings are at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 4, Feb. 3 and April 28. • The Lakeland Art Association will have a watercolor class by Teresa Breading at 1 p.m. Oct. 14 at the Lakeland Art Center & Gallery, 302 E. Winona Ave., Warsaw. Cost is $25 and includes supplies.
• Castle Gallery Fine Art, 1202 W. Wayne St., will have art workshops as part of its National Oil & Acrylic Painters' Society show. On Oct. 17 to 19, master artist Jason Sacran will have a plein air presentation at Castle Gallery, cost is $350; Oct. 19 from 1:30 to 3 p.m., Charles Shepard, president and CEO of Fort Wayne Museum of Art, will speak at Castle Gallery; Oct. 20 from 9 a.m. to noon at Castle Gallery, master and portrait artist Cheng Lian will have demonstrations; and Oct. 21 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Castle Gallery, master painter Joseph Orr will give a demonstration.
