Fort Wayne Sam's Club, 6736 Lima Road, will host free health screenings from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. today for both members and non-members. Tests will include glucose, total cholesterol, HDL, blood pressure, body fat percentage, vision and hearing.
• Zimmer Biomet in Warsaw donated $2,330 to the Warsaw Community Schools Boomerang Backpack program, as well as $210 in gift cards for needy families, clothing items, school supplies and toiletries.
• Lutheran Social Services of Indiana received a $15,000 grant from the St. Joseph Community Health Foundation to help with the health and wellness of teen parents and children in the Education Creates Hope and Opportunity program.
• Doner Designs, whose founder Steve Doner is a former Fort Wayne resident, completed a time machine themed bass guitar for charity fundraising. The company makes custom-themed guitars for charity fundraising. For more information, go to donerdesigns.org.
