ARTS UPDATE

RUMMAGE SALE: Cinema Center and Fort Wayne Dance Collective will have a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Hall Center, first floor, 437 E. Berry St. The organizations are cleaning out their basements and will have such items as movie memorabilia, posters, knick-knacks, antiques, props, costumes and furniture.

JESTERS REGISTRATION: The Jesters of the University of Saint Francis is accepting registration for its 2019-20 season. The program is available to people ages 8 and older with developmental disabilities. The program runs from Sept. 7 to March 7 and meets from 10 a.m. to noon Saturdays at the north campus, 2702 Spring St. For a registration form, call Molly McGowan at 399-7700 ext. 8001 or email mmcgowan@sf.edu.

AUDITIONS:

• Fort Wayne Youtheatre will have auditions for “Wind in the Willows” from 4 to 6 p.m. Aug. 26 and 27 at the Arts United Center, 303 E. Main St. To reserve an audition spot, go to fortwayneyoutheatre.org/auditions. Walk-ins are also welcomed.

• Purdue Fort Wayne Department of Theatre will have auditions for “Ghetto” at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 8 in Williams Theatre, 2101 Coliseum Blvd. E. The play is in partnership with the “Violins of Hope Fort Wayne.” Performance dates are Nov. 15 to 17 and 21 to 23. For more information, call 481-6551.

ART AWARD: Hicksville, Ohio, artist Gina Wolfrum won the People's Choice Award at the Ohio State Fair Fine Arts Exhibition for her work, “Amethyst Awakening.”

NEW BOOK: Casey Weade, CEO of Howard Bailey Financial, published his third book “Job Optional: The Science of Retiring with Confidence; the Art of Living with Purpose.”
