'Fuller House' set to end

Associated Press

When it comes to “Fuller House,” Netflix has decided to Cut-It-Out – or rather, Cut-It-Off.

In the same announcement that the streaming giant revealed the sequel to “Full House” would be renewed for a fifth season, it also announced that it will be the sitcom's last.

Netflix made the announcement Thursday with a video featuring highlights from previous seasons, punctuated by cast members promising they have “saved the best for last.”

The updated series caught up viewers with an adult D.J. Tanner-Fuller (Candace Cameron Bure), her sister Stephanie “How Rude” Tanner (Jodie Sweetin) and their friend Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber). Along the way, original cast members John Stamos, Bob Saget, Dave Coulier and Lori Loughlin made appearances.

“Fuller House” at least gets a planned series finale, unlike the original series.

The final season of “Fuller House” is slated to launch in the fall.

'L Word' returning

Showtime will air a sequel to its groundbreaking drama series “The L Word,” which explored lesbian and bisexual life in Los Angeles.

Jennifer Beals, Katherine Moennig and Leisha Hailey, stars of the original 2004-09 series, will reprise their roles, Showtime said Thursday.

The sequel will introduce other characters across the sexual and gender spectrum, the channel said. It also will explore new and old neighborhoods throughout L.A., Showtime entertainment president Gary Levine said Thursday.
