Special events

• The Chapel, 2505 W. Hamilton Road, will have its free Christmas concert at 3, 5 and 7 p.m. today and 9:15 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

• First Assembly of God, 1400 W. Washington Center Road, will present "The Christmas Post" 7:30 p.m. today and 6 p.m. Sunday. Cost is $10 advance, $12 at the door, or $14 reserved seating and $8 for groups of 10 or more.

• First United Methodist Church, 113 W. Central Ave., Van Wert, Ohio, will host the performance of "Handel’s Messiah," which features a 60-voice community chorus, a 16-piece chamber orchestra and four soloists, at 7 p.m. Sunday.

• Plymouth Congregational Church, 501 W. Berry St., will have "In the Arms of the Beloved: An Evening with Rumi" by Michael Spath at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.


• Huntington Church of the Brethren in Huntington will host Chibuzo Petty, an organizer with the Black Lives Matter movement from Dayton, who will speak about "Jesus, the Racist" at 11 a.m.

• University of Saint Francis, 2702 Spring St., will present the free lecture, "Incarnate Wisdom Scripture," by Sister Felicity Dorsett, assistant professor of theology, at 3 p.m. Sunday in the north campus auditorium.
