Economic revitalization area requested for New Haven plant
The local company taking over the former Parker Hannifin plant in New Haven has asked that the property be declared an economic revitalization area -- a first step toward eligibility for tax breaks provided for economic development.
Sauder Manufacturing Co., Grabill, is promising to bring 60 new jobs to the plant at 10785 Rose Ave., while relocating 132 positions from the company's Grabill locations, said Brian Yoh, New Haven's director of planning and economic development.
Sauder also says it will invest nearly $1.07 million in new equipment and $120,000 in real estate.
A public hearing on the declaration will take place at 7 p.m. July 25 at New Haven's Administration Building, 815 E. Lincoln Highway.
