Riley Children's Health opens north-side office

SHERRY SLATER | The Journal Gazette

Riley Children's Health is now seeing patients at its specialty office on Fort Wayne's north side. Today is the second day patients have been treated there.

Gabriel "Gaby" Basalo, 11, met this morning with his pediatric pulmonary caregiver, Dr. Greg Montgomery, for a checkup.

Gaby, who has a particularly stubborn form of asthma, has been seeing the lung specialist for four or five years.

The Basalos live in Warsaw, so being able to schedule the appointment in Fort Wayne instead of Indianapolis saved the family more than four hours in the car.

Doctors practicing five different specialties will see patients in the office off Cook and Coldwater roads: Pulmonology, gastroenterology, rheumatology, urology and cardiology. Riley officials plan to add more specialties in the future.
