1st Veg'n Brew event scheduled

A new one-day event in Fort Wayne will focus on a plant-based lifestyle.

The Fort Wayne Veg'n Brew Fest will be from noon to 6 p.m. Oct. 6 at Headwaters Park with a VIP hour at 11 a.m.

It will feature local and regional restaurants offering vegan fares, vendors, rescue groups, a plant-based cooking demonstration and speakers on zero-waste living.

Admission is free except for the VIP hour, which costs $15. Only 100 VIP tickets are available. Visit www.fwvegfest.com for more information.

3 FWCS schools set Super Shot

In partnership with Fort Wayne Community Schools, Super Shot will be on-site to provide all school immunizations required and recommended by the state.

Super Shot will be at Harrison Hill and Forest Park elementaries and Miami Middle School from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday and 1 to 7  p.m. Monday. 

Families are required to bring a current copy of the child's shot record and insurance card. There is no out-of-pocket expense, and no child will be turned away if uninsured or underinsured. A parent or guardian must accompany the student.
