A downtown farmers market operated by Young Leaders of Northeast Indiana has expanded its Saturday venue to include portions of Berry Street, the organization announced Friday.
“We have been blown away by the unexpected growth of the market this season. We are honored to call this market ours,” Ashley Wagner, YLNI market manager, said in a statement.
“Special thanks to (city Traffic Engineer) Kyle Winling and (Fort Wayne Police Officer) Marty Bender for making the growth of the market possible.”
The YLNI Farmers Market is at the northeast corner of Barr and Wayne streets. The expanded market will close Berry Street from Barr to Lafayette streets during Saturday market hours from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Last month, YLNI announced that the farmers market had expanded to include Wednesday evening hours as well.
The Wednesday market, at Barr and Wayne streets, is open from 5 to 8 p.m.
The YLNI Farmers Market runs through Sept. 28.
