Holcomb appoints Huntington judge
A deputy prosecutor will be Huntington County's new Circuit Court judge.
Gov. Eric Holcomb announced Thursday that he appointed Jamie M. Groves as Huntington Circuit Court judge. Groves will succeed Thomas M. Hakes, who is retiring this week.
Groves currently is the chief deputy prosecutor in Huntington County. He has been with the Huntington County prosecutor's office for the past 20 years and has been its chief deputy the past 10 years.
Before attending law school, Groves was a juvenile court probation officer and juvenile detention officer in Porter County. Groves received a bachelor's degree from Indiana University and his law degree from the Indiana University McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis.
Groves will be sworn in on a date to be determined, officials said.
