Indianapolis school closed 1 day after online statements

Associated Press

INDIANAPOLIS – An Indianapolis high school will resume classes Wednesday after troubling statements made in videos and social media posts led to a day of e-learning.

Bishop Chatard High School spokeswoman Kelly Lucas tells The Indianapolis Star that the statements that prompted Tuesday's closure were brought to the attention of school leaders Monday night. All after-school athletic and extracurricular activities and practices resumed on campus at 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Principal Joe Hansen in a message to parents didn't comment on the exact nature of the online statements but said they didn't include a specific threat to the high school.

Indianapolis police were present on the school's campus Tuesday morning.
