Ohio man faces sentencing for shooting that killed 2, hurt 3

Associated Press

WARREN, Ohio – An Ohio man will learn how long he'll spend in prison for fatally shooting two people and wounding three others in what authorities say was an ongoing dispute.

Nasser Hamad is expected to be sentenced Thursday in Warren. He was convicted last month of both aggravated murder and attempted aggravated murder.

A prosecutor says he'll ask for consecutive sentences that could bring a sentence of 60 years to life.

Police say Hamad and one of the injured men had been arguing over a woman who apparently was dating Hamad.

Police say that man and four other people drove to Hamad's house in February and a fight broke out near Warren and that Hamad began shooting.

A defense attorney says the five attacked Hamad and the shooting was in self-defense.
