Journal Gazette

Two people were arrested Tuesday after a drug bust.

About 10 a.m., the Fort Wayne Police Vice and Narcotics Division, Gang and Violent Crimes Unit and Emergency Services Team searched a home at 3518 Harvester Ave.

Police said they received information that marijuana was being dealt from the home.

Detectives found more than two pounds of marijuana, a large amount of cash and paraphernalia, police said.

Austin W. Fee, 19, was charged with dealing marijuana and maintaining a common nuisance. Aaliyah S. Craft, 19, also was charged with maintaining a common nuisance. A third adult inside the home was not charged, police said.

Man, 55, accused of child molesting

The 10-year-girl learned to beware of the high-fives that led to unwanted sexual advances and to avoid as best she could her father's 55-year-old friend who came to visit once or twice a month.

But there were times when she couldn't evade his high-fives and his hugs that gave way to inappropriate touching and finally confided to her mother about the molestation July 10, court records said.

An investigation ensued and Shane A. Call, of the 1000 block of Coliseum Boulevard West, was charged Monday with child molesting. He was being held at the Allen County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail, according to a jail spokesman.

Call denied the charges, according to court documents, and said he did not know why the girl would make these allegations because they weren't true.

Call submitted to a voice stress test and when he was asked about the charges against him there was a “fair amount of stress in the responses,” court documents said. Call has a hearing in Allen Superior Court today.

Misconduct charge against stepfather

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Defiance, Ohio, man accused of performing sex acts in front of his stepdaughter at least 20 times.

Cody E. Reynolds, 28, was charged Monday with performing sexual conduct in the presence of a minor. His bond is $2,500, according to a spokesman with the Allen County Jail.

According to court documents, Reynolds would send the girl's younger sisters out of the room, but would have the stepdaughter stay. He told her people “make a big deal about being naked,” according to court documents.

The sexual misconduct would occur when the girls' mother went to work. The sex act was conducted in the living room or the bathroom, court documents said.

North Manchester egg facility burns

A fire burning for hours destroyed several large barns at an egg-producing facility near North Manchester.

Crews responded late Monday to the fire at Hi-Grade Egg Producers. No injuries were reported from the fire.

Winds helped spread the fire to multiple barns before it was brought under control about 5 a.m. Tuesday. Four structures at the facility appeared to be destroyed. Officials say firefighters from 22 departments responded.

Officials didn't immediately know what caused the fire.
