3 victims in separate crashes identified
The Allen County coroner's office identified three people Wednesday who died in two vehicle crashes this week.
The deaths bring the number of traffic fatalities in the county this year to 33.
One of the crashes was on Cedar Canyon Road and Indiana 3/Lima Road on Monday.
Eugene Daniel Wolfe, 90, of Huntertown was driving a utility-task vehicle through the intersection when he was struck by a box truck that failed to stop at a red light, police said.
The coroner said Wolfe died from blunt force trauma.
The coroner also identified two people who died in a crash early Sunday on Indiana 1/Leo Road in Leo-Cedarville. Eight other people were injured in that crash, police said.
Harvey M. Schwartz, 21 and Louis E. Schwartz, 17, both of South Whitley, died at the scene when the van they were in left the road and struck a tree, police said.
The coroner ruled both men died from blunt force trauma.
