Taylor University students were asked to remain inside following a robbery at Daleville convenience store Tuesday night.

Two Fort Wayne men were arrested Wednesday morning on County Road 700, according to the Delaware County Sheriff's Department.

Elijah N. Shores and Steeve E. Lewis of Fort Wayne were charged in the robbery at a Daleville Shell convenience store on Indiana 67 on Tuesday.

They were later stopped near Upland but fled on foot.

There was an all-night police search near Upland and the Taylor University campus, where students were asked to stay inside, according to a news release from Taylor University's newspaper, the Echo.

No gunshots fired from overpass

A shattered windshield on the Indiana Toll Road in Steuben County on Sept. 23 was not caused by gunshots, Indiana State Police said Wednesday.

Police had been called to the 146.5-mile marker after a semi driver reported seeing flashes of light from an overpass just before his windshield shattered, state police said. The object that hit his windshield continued through the semi's back window.

Police were able to determine that a rock or a piece of concrete hit the semi driver's windshield.

Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to call Indiana State Police at 574-206-2931. The public is encouraged to report any suspicious activity on any highway overpass by calling 911.
