2 gunmen rob lending business

JAMIE DUFFY | The Journal Gazette

Two armed robbers made off with an undisclosed amount of cash from One Main Financial at Southtown Crossing Tuesday night.

The two men, one 5 foot 10 and the other about 5 foot 11, were black, wearing black hooded sweatshirts and concealing their faces with black bandannas. Both were armed with handguns when they entered the lending business near Lafayette Street and Tillman Road, demanding cash from two employees around 6:40 p.m., according to Michael Joyner, Fort Wayne Police Department public information officer.

The robbers demanded the employees' cell phones as they left and then departed in a dark-colored car, Joyner said.

The two cell phones were recovered a short time later in the intersection of North Phoenix Parkway and Southtown Crossing.

No one was injured the robbery.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 260-436-7867.
