2 armed robbers strike One Main Financial

JAMIE DUFFY | The Journal Gazette

Two armed robbers made off with an undisclosed amount of cash from One Main Financial at Southtown Crossing on Tuesday night.

The two men, one 5-foot-10 and the other about 5-foot-11, were black, wearing black hooded sweatshirts and concealing their faces with black bandannas.

Both were armed with handguns when they entered the lending business near Lafayette Street and Tillman Road, demanding cash from two employees about 6:40 p.m., according to Michael Joyner, Fort Wayne Police Department public information officer.

The robbers demanded the employees' cellphones, then left in a dark-colored car, Joyner said.

The two cellphones were recovered a short time later at North Phoenix Parkway and Southtown Crossing.

No one was injured the robbery. Anyone with any information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 260-436-7867.
