Officials investigating death of Hicksville soldier

Officials at Fort Hood, Texas say they are investigating the death last week of a Hicksville, Ohio man.

Authorities said Spc. Devon Michael Wulff, 23, was found unresponsive in his Fort Hood residence Feb. 28. The soldier was transported to Scott & White Hospital and died March 3.

Wulff, whose home of record is listed as Hicksville, Ohio, entered active-duty military service in August 2015 as an infantryman. He has been assigned to 12th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, since February 2016.

Wulff deployed in support of the Republic of Korea from February through October 2016.

Wulff’s awards and decorations include a National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon and Army Service Ribbon.

Circumstances surrounding this incident are under investigation, authorities said.
